Begin to Weave and God will Give the Thread

My name is Lovetta Conto. I am 14 years of age. I am from West Africa. I was born in Liberia but I grew up in Ghana. My father and I travelled because of the war. I moved back to Liberia finally when I was 13. I am happy the war is over.
I've been in the US since November of last year. I am part of Strongheart Fellowship. I have been going to New Roads School in Santa Monica, California.
My Strongheart project is to help plan Strongheart House Liberia. It is a beautiful house for kids who escaped the war in my country and are returning home. I will live there when I go home.
Ilove to design. I love fashion. My dream is to be a fashion designer. I love to mix different clothes and styles together. I think it's so interesting to mix different clothes together because it lets you express who you are. When people see you, they will understand more about who you are.
I designed jewelry made from the metal of bullets collected by people from my country. The bullets were used in the war. I used the bullets to make into leaf necklaces to show that new life can begin even after war. The money I collect will go into a special account for me to use in my life and for Strongheart House to help other kids.
These are the bullets on the streets of Liberia during the war:

These are some of my pieces I designed. The leaf is made from a bullet melted down. It says "LIFE" on it. The bead is the bottom of a real bullet:

In August, I will return home to Liberia. Before that, I am going to two really great camps:
HUMAN DIVERSITY
The first is called Independent Lake. It is amazing. They have many kinds of kids there and many many things to do. They teach many cool things and you can meet many kinds of people.
PEACE CAMP
This camp is for kids from all over the world to talk about peace. We will share about our cultures and learn peace leadership. I will be a special peace ambassador from Liberia. There will be kids from Uganda and Nigeria there, too. Some of them have never been to the US. I will help them learn about America and we will share about our lives in Africa.
