A POEM I WROTE

MAMA LIBERIA

By Lovetta Conto

A country was gifted

The people were afraid

They were afraid to step out

For what belonged to them.

For a long time

They've been afraid to step out

People who have the big dreams step out

Others had big dreams, too

But they were afraid

They sat down with shame

What can I say

Mama Liberia
